Building a Perennial Border Along the Main Vegetable Bed

30/04/2012

A few years ago, mom and I went to Cayuga Lake’s Wine and Herb Festival and received a sage plant, which we both thought was an annual, since the tag that came with it stated it was. Two years later, mine is still going strong, but I didn’t like where it’s home was, in the front flower bed – I had placed it there thinking it was to be temporary. Today I meant only to move that to the front edge of the main vegetable bed, the one closest to the house, and ended up transplanting some other plants along that side as well, along with placing some marble walkways along the edge. I have been wanting to make a perennial bed in order to keep the bank from eroding into the vegetable bed, and also to provide a small wind break, although the other side is really where that is more needed.
