Massive Marygold

It’s closest to the peppers, which were planted with generous amounts of compost and bone meal, which is what I attribute this marygold’s monstrous size to. These photos obscure four pepper plants it shares a row with, and dwarfs the ones you can see to the left of it, which are themselves a good two feet high. These photos were taken several days ago and the plant has many more flowers blooming now, but I still think it has way too much foliage at the expense of the blooms. Will be careful not to get them near compost next season!

    WHAT A MONSTER!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN MARIGOLDS THAT HUGE!!! ARE YOU GOING TO TRY HARVESTING THE SEEDS? GOOD JOB ….

  2. I doubt they are heirloom so probably not.. we’ll see if I even see how it seeds! I’ve never seen marygold seeds.
